WAHS vs. Skyline Game Moved To Saturday At MHS


The high school football game featuring Skyline at Western Albemarle has been postponed. The game had been scheduled for kickoff at 7 o'clock tonight. Instead, it's been postponed until 1 p.m. Saturday and will be played on the synthetic turf field at Monticello High School.

Bulldogs Take A Bite Out Of Warriors, Win Jefferson District 23-0


Goochland was in control from start to finish Friday night shutting down the high-powered Western Albemarle offense en route to an 23-0 victory over the Warriors to claim the Jefferson District Championship. The Louisa Lions controlled the ground game on offense and the defensive side of the ball as they defeated the Monticello Mustangs 40-14. The Lions pounded away for 5 touchdowns on the ground, while holding Monticello to 55 yards of total offense. Saints Survive Furious Eagles Comeback, Defeat Covenant 35-21


STAB appeared to be in total control leading 28-0 in the Fourth Quarter before Covenant started a ferocious comeback. Covenant's Wildcat formation caused STAB headaches and led the Eagles to 21 unanswered points in the 4th Quarter to pull with a touchdown with the score 28-21. Stephen Schuler threw for 216 yards and 3 TDs, while adding 81 yards and another TD on the ground, leading Western Albemarle to a 28-6 victory over the Monticello Mustangs on Monday night. Warriors Stay Unconquered Defeat Charlottesville 27-13


Charlottesville's Black Knights put up a valiant effort but came up short, falling 27-13 to Western Albemarle on Friday night. The Warriors took the lead in the 4th Quarter after LB Hunter Mitchell recovered a CHS fumble in the end zone for a touchdown to go ahead 20-13. Western put the game away late in the 4th Quarter on a 3 yard touchdown run by RB Adam Diehl put the Warriors ahead 27-13. Western Albemarle Rolls Past Louisa 26-7


Western Albemarle (5-0) off to their best start since 2003, tamed the Louisa Lions 26-7 (3-2) Friday night in Crozet. Western Quarterback Stephen Schuler threw for 3 TDs and Dom Losco intercepted 3 Louisa passes to lead the Warriors to victory. STAB Shuts Out Trinity Episcopal 28-0


It took an entire half for the St. Anne’s-Belfield offense to get rolling, but once it got started, it was awfully tough to stop Friday night as the Saints defeated Trinity Episcopal 28-0 in their first home game of the 2009 season.

Charlottesville Earns Win Number One Over Albemarle 28-13
