Staunton Woman Gets Top Prize In Scratcher Game



A Staunton woman has won the $1 million top prize in the Virginia Lottery’s Casino Royale scratcher game.  Sara Kesterson (pictured left) bought her ticket last week from the Kangaroo Express in Staunton.  Lottery officials say Kesterson chose a one-time cash option of $575,000 before taxes.  She received a symbolic check from lottery official Phil Hankey (photo courtesy of the Virginia Lottery).  The Kangaroo Express received a $10,000 bonus for selling Kesterson the winning ticket.
