Albemarle Opens Its Beaches Saturday



Albemarle County will open its swimming beaches later this week.  Swimmers can visit the Chris Greene, Walnut Creek and Mint Springs beaches beginning Saturday (May 26).  The three beaches will be open through the Labor Day weekend except days when the Albemarle public schools are in session.  You can go every day beginning June 9th, and lifeguards will be on duty from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The entry fees for Albemarle residents are $3 for adults and $2 for children.  The cost for non-residents will be $4.50 for adults and $3 for children.  The county also sells season passes.
