British singer Florence Welch suffered a painful injury during a gig in Australia after cutting her foot onstage.

The Florence and the Machine star, who is currently touring Down Under, stepped on a nail during a gig in Perth, but carried on with the show despite the pain.

However, she eventually had to apologise to fans for "bleeding all over the stage."

She tells Britain's The Sun, "I was bleeding so much my tour manager feared I'd lost a toe."

The band's Aussie tour ends on Saturday in Brisbane.
