Adam Levine's acting career takes off with movie role

Rocker Adam Levine is lining up his big screen debut just weeks after confirming he's to test out his acting skills for the first time in the TV hit American Horror Story.

The Maroon 5 frontman has been cast in the second season of the creepy TV drama despite his lack of acting experience.

He is yet to film his scenes on the show, but has already landed a part in new movie Can A Song Save Your Life alongside Keira Knightley, according to Deadline.com.

However, the role won't steer too far away from type - Levine will play a wannabe rocker who ditches his girlfriend, played by Knightley, after he wins a recording contract.

Mark Ruffalo and Hailee Steinfeld will also star in the film. (MJ/DL/PAW)
