KISS rocker Gene Simmons spent Father's Day cheering on his daughter Sophie as she competed for a spot on TV talent show X Factor.

The rocker's teenage kid auditioned for Simon Cowell and Britney Spears in San Francisco, California on Sunday  - and her dad was there for moral support.

TMZ.com reports the KISS star had no idea his daughter was trying out for the show until she called him on Saturday night to reveal why she wouldn't be at home in Los Angeles for Father's Day.

Sophie Simmons isn't the only famous offspring to try out for a spot on a U.S. TV talent show this year - Jim Carrey's daughter Jane was a contestant on American Idol. She was kicked off the show after the first round. (KL/WNWCZM&WNWC/MH)
