Jeff Daniels is refusing to push forward with the "Dumb & Dumber" sequel without his co-star Jim Carrey.

"The Mask" star and Daniels were both attached to the project in April when the Farrelly Brothers announced plans to work on a follow-up to the 1994 hit comedy, but Carrey dropped out of the movie on Wednesday after reportedly growing frustrated by delays and lack of studio support for the film.

And now his onscreen pal has poured doubt on the possibility he or any of the rest of the cast and crew will continue in his absence, telling MTV News, "Nobody's doing it without Jim."

The movie is still set to begin filming in September.
