The Charlottesville Radio Group has awarded over $200,000 in grants to local charities. Each of the four grant recipients will be awarded over $50,000 in advertising on the Charlottesville Radio Group of five radio stations. The organizations receiving the Community Awareness Grants are Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, Foothills Child Advocacy Center, and the Sexual Assault Resource Agency.
General Manager Jim Principi says deciding between the local non-profit groups and organizations that entered was tough:
The Eure family established the grants in 2002 to give each of four non-profit organizations a yearlong series of weekly commercials that would air across their three radio stations.
