A new independent survey shows Virginia's contest between President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney is in a dead heat. Quinnipiac University found each candidate is favored by 44% of the Virginians surveyed. Researcher Peter Brown says Quinnipiac also asked survey respondents about the U.S. Senate race. Brown says Republican George Allen received 46% support and Democrat Tim Kaine had 44%. He notes the margin of error is 2.4%, and both the presidential and Senate races have no clear favorites.
Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has formally accepted the Republican nomination for Governor but he probably won't know who his ticket-mates are until Saturday evening.
