Rockers to make history by streaming charity festival performances

Neil Young, the Foo Fighters and the Black Keys will make history when they perform at the Global Citizen Festival in New York's Central Park on 29 September because the event will be the largest syndicated music charity webcast and broadcast in history.

Bosses at Australian technology company Vividas, along with online distribution partners VEVO, YouTube, AOL/Huffington Post, Yahoo!VH1.com and NYTimes.com will stream the event live to fans all over the world.

The festival, co-hosted by actresses Olivia Wilde, Minka Kelly, Sophia Bush and Selena Gomez, will benefit anti-poverty charities. (KL/WN/MC)
