Eighties pin-up Rick Springfield often receives nasty calls from irate husbands, who believe he's romancing their wives.

The Jessie's Girl hitmaker admits his telephone number is not hard to come by - and some devotees actually dial it into their personal cell phones just in case they ever need to get in contact with their pop idol.

But, when jealous husbands spot the number among their wives' phone contacts, they assume there's something romantic going on.

Springfield tells WENN, "There have been people who have actually called up my house because they found my phone number, which is available on the internet, in their wives' phone.

"They assumed something was going on and called up my house and said, 'I'm gonna kill you!' There is a lot of miscommunication just from fandom but I understand that, but sometimes the person on the other side doesn't get that." (KL/WN&RXM/MT)
