One Direction star Zayn Malik missed out on a jam session with Johnny Depp this month because he was "too nervous" to meet the Hollywood actor.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" hunk invited the boyband to his house in Los Angeles to meet him and his daughter, Lily-Rose, who is a huge fan of the group, and they all played music together at Depp's home studio.

However, Malik decided not to go to Depp's house and he missed out on the chance to jam with his idol.

He tells British newspaper The Sun, "I was too nervous to go. I am a massive fan (of Johnny Depp) and I didn't want to embarrass myself so I let the boys go without me."
