VDOT And Navy Agree On I-564 Connector



Governor McDonnell has announced that VDOT and the U.S. Navy have signed a memorandum of agreement that will allow work to begin on the Interstate 564 connector on the grounds of the world's largest naval base. The project will connect the existing I-564 through the Norfolk Naval Base and the Norfolk International Terminals, part of the Port of Virginia. The new road, to terminate near Hampton Boulevard in Norfolk, and it's designed to create a safer high-speed highway that should provide improved access to the base.
