A local farmer is fighting a bill in the General Assembly. Christine Solem (pictured) of northern Albemarle has been a leader in the home-grown movement for several decades. Solem says one piece of legislation threatens those who make jams and jellies at home and then sell those items at farmers' markets. The law currently allows the sale of those items without a home inspection. But Solem says the new bill expands the list of goods, and the detailed wording exempting jams and jellies has been removed. She says there's no way that will pass:
