An endangered list includes our area because of a local road project. The Southern Environmental Law Center says the western bypass has put us among the Top 10 Endangered Places in the Southeast for the second year in a row. Morgan Butler is an attorney with the SELC:

The endangered list also includes areas where there's mountaintop removal for coal, and Southside Virginia where there's the potential for uranium mining.
