Police say a burglary suspect who was charged in a case from Fluvanna is now accused of similar offenses in Albemarle. County Police say 33-year-old Kevin Scott Burchardt (pictured) of Amherst is charged with 19 counts in connection with five armed burglaries in Albemarle. Burchardt was arrested on New Year's Eve at Wintergreen. Authorities say he's been connected to a crime spree covering 19 jurisdictions and possibly more. Police say the burglaries in Albemarle occurred over a two-month period on James River Road, Overlook Drive, Woods Edge Road, Totier Creek Road and Hawks Crest Lane. Police say Burchardt was often seen in the areas before they were hit, and they say he would pose as a police officer, civil processor or private investigator. Police want to be contacted by anybody who might have seen a green Jeep or a white Chevrolet Tahoe in their area, or anyone who encountered Burchardt. He's 6'8" tall and weighs about 280 pounds.
