A 40-year veteran of the State Police was fatally wounded Thursday in Dinwiddie County. Master Trooper Junius Walker (pictured) died from multiple gunshot wounds along Interstate-85. The Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office apprehended a man who's accused of killing Walker, and he's now in State Police custody. The suspect is identified as 28-year-old Russell E. Governor McDonnell and State Police Superintendent Steve Flaherty are mourning Walker, whose survivors include his widow and two adult daughters. Walker is the first state trooper who died in the line of duty this year.
