LOCAL TALK—LOCAL ISSUES—LOCAL RADIO AT ITS VERY BEST!

Charlottesville—Right Now! with Coy Barefoot
is Central Virginia's premiere public affairs radio program: a compelling mix of politics, literature, history, science, and a treasure trove of local issues.

Guests include national, state, and local leaders, best-selling authors, artists, journalists, and newsmakers. Regular local guests include Brian Wheeler, the Executive Director of Charlottesville Tomorrow, who joins Coy each Tuesday to talk about growth and development in Central Virginia; author and historian Rick Britton is Coy's guest each Friday to talk about local history; and Hawes Spencer, editor and publisher of the Hook newspaper, joins Coy on Fridays as well for a local news round up and discussion.

Frequent guests include best-selling author John Whitehead, founder and CEO of the Rutherford Institute; Attorney General Bob McDonnell; UVA astronomer Ed Murphy; George Gilliam with the Miller Center of Public Affairs; Dave Wasserman of the Cook Political Report in Washington; legal and political analyst Dahlia Lithwick of Slate, NPR, and Newsweek; and investigative journalist Dan Olmsted, editor of The Age of Autism blog. Coy also offers a monthly Health and Wellness Update thanks to the good folks at ACAC.

Coy has brought Central Virginia exclusive interviews with running mates Senators Barack Obama and Joe Biden, former presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, Senator Jim Webb, former Virginia Senator George Allen, and more.

Look for your opportunity each day to win dinner for two at Zazu's, one of Charlottesville's favorite eateries (wraps, salads, home-made chili, and smoothies)—by being the first to call in and identify a classic TV theme song!

Best-selling author, historian, and political analyst Coy Barefoot is the program's founding host and producer. Coy is a Wall Street Journal and Amazon.com best-selling author. His books include Thomas Jefferson on Leadership and The Corner: A History of Student Life at the University of Virginia, which won the 2003 Nalle Prize for Outstanding History. He has written and reported for magazines and newspapers around the country as well as a long list of online publications.

You can check out podcasts of Coy's recent interivews below or click here for a more complete archive of Charlottesville—Right Now! podcasts.

"People are going to disagree when it comes to politics," Barefoot says. "And that's okay. We're not all going to be on the same page all the time. But we don't have to demonize each other simply because we disagree."

Charlottesville—Right Now! with Coy Barefoot is waiting for your call, at 977-1070, each weekday from 4-6pm on Newsradio 1070 WINA.
