Due to the shortage of H1N1 vaccine, all local clinics are now on hold. The Thomas Jefferson Health District has been forced to postpone H1N1 vaccinations for the local schools and targeted groups among the general public. The health department says those clinics will be rescheduled once more vaccine arrives. As far as the seasonal flu, the Health District has only received about 60% of its allotment, and the remainder is not expected until late November. But seasonal flu strains have not shown up yet in the general population. Therefore, health officials say it's OK to get a seasonal flu shot in December because the peak time for those strains would probably arrive after that time.
