UVA Student Health Reports Decline In H1NI Cases
|
The number of H1N1 cases at UVA has leveled off and is now declining. Health System clinics and the Emergency Department have seen a modest decrease in patients who show up with influenza-like-illness over the last week. There also has been a decline in disease activity among students. Dr. James Turner(pictured) and his colleagues at the Elson Student Health Center are receiving 5 to 10 reports of cases daily. Student Health estimates that there are 50 to 60 reported active cases at any one time, although there are undoubtedly others that have gone unreported. There have been no student hospitalizations, and health officials say students are recovering well.
