Dade Must Have Mental Evaluation
A judge has authorized a mental health evaluation for a Greene County man who's facing a laundry list of charges following a March fire that severely burned his former girlfriend. Cordrick Lewis Dade (pictured) was scheduled to be arraigned Friday, but a judge has delayed that proceeding until late September. The judge hopes a mental health evaluation can help him determine if the 36-year-old Dade was in good mental standing when Yolanda Chambers was set on fire the morning of March 22nd. Chambers testified earlier this year that Dade dumped gasoline on her and then ignited it. She has identified Dade as the father of her children. Dade faces charges of child endangerment, malicious wounding and arson. His attorney expects to have the results of the mental health evaluation in advance of Dade's next court appearance on September 21st.
